Wow - huge hit in the groin for the organization losing Kevin but he was too professional and aggressive to be the assistant anyways. Those positions should have been switched. Feel bad for the returning players as I know they really thought very highly of him and will definately miss him. Wishing Kevin and his family much luck in their future endeavors.

The worst news! Should have waited to buy my season tickets.

It is a huge hit for the entire community, I too feel for the players, whichever of them choose to return in light of this! They suffered this year, and it will only be worse next year without Kevin!

You never know how this upcomming season is going to turn out. He was just an assistant coach and who knows we might get someone as good as him or maybe better! We just have to believe that we'll get someone good and some new players to replace the 20 year olds. I can't wait for next season it should be good! GO DOGS GO

The big question is why release Kevin who without a doubt lives and breathes for hockey and for teaching young players. If anyone anywhere can give me a name of someone who is more committed and more caring as a coach I would appreciate it as I would surely like to meet them.

Hate to say this but anyone who makes a comment like oh he is just an assistant coach must have a lengthy background in tiddly winks as it sure is not in hockey. Hey I might be going out on a limb here but I have only been around hockey, playing and or coaching, for 50 plus years and I have never met an only an assistant coach yet. Most of them are eager to learn and willing to help any way they can. When you combine that with the knowledge Kevin has and his concern for the players you have just placed the stupidest comment known to mankind in your comment. Please find something you know about before commenting again.

I was in at the office and the ladies said to voice any concerns to the source (Andy Oakes) by sending comments to his email...

I mean really - what kind of business decision is releasing the better half of the coaching staff, apparently a bad one. Send him an email AVB fans. Kevin has more going on within the team and the community as a whole then Paul could ever dream of.
