The Dogs had good energy early, but were perhaps over excited as the Kings had a magnificent chance to take the lead just 39 seconds into the game when Johnny Evans was set up wide open in the hashmarks, only to be robbed on a one-timer point blank by Brody Claeys. The Bulldogs earned a power play on a strong net drive by Chris Sarault later in the period, and looked like they should have earned a two-man advantage on a dangerous hit from behind into the end boards on Quinn Syrydiuk that went uncalled. Another solid chance for Johnny Evans on the rush hit the crossbar and stayed out. The Dogs would answer late in the period when Chris Sarault chased down a Tristan Bukovec dump in and walked behind the net before walking out to the left side and driving to the slot where he snapped one home top corner, short-side past Stefan Wornig to make it 1-0 Bulldogs at 17:31 of the first. The Dogs built the lead in controversial fashion in the dying moments of the period when Nathan Dingmann hustled to pick up an Adam Donnelly dump in. He then fed it from off the end boards to the slot for Ryan Finnegan. He would throw a shot on net that went through Wornig, and dribbled over the goal line, as the whistle was sounding. It was incredibly similar to the goal the Dogs scored in Powell River on New Year's Eve, only to have it called back by a quick whistle. After a lengthy discussion, the goal stood with the Referee appearing to stick with his initial call that it was a goal and the puck beat the whistle. Shots favoured he Bulldogs 7-4 in the first.

The Bulldogs built their lead to 3-0 just short of five minutes into the second as Eric Margo walked over the Kings line up the left wing and drove the net. He attempted to make a defender miss, and then threw a spin-around pass to the back post where it was one-timed home by Chris Schutz. Liam Conrad also drew an assist on the play at 4:53 of the second. Just under three minutes later it was 4-0 when Adam Donnelly banked a pass at centre again for Margo up the right wing. He again drove the net, before going below the goal line and throwing a wrap around cross-crease that ended up hitting the skate of Chris Schutz before he snapped it home through the legs of Wornig at 7:36 of the second. The Dogs had ample opportunities to build the lead, most notably on breakaways for Nathan Dingmann and Chris Schutz but neither could convert on them, with Wornig coming up with a highlight reel glove save on a pretty move by Schutz and a backhand that looked labelled. While the Dogs didn't find the net again before the period was out, it was certainly fun to watch as they were skating and playing hard, two-way hockey. Shots in the period favoured the Bulldogs 11-7 for a two period total of 18-11.

The third period saw things heat up, as a hard hit on Chris Schutz sent him to the room when he was hit awkwardly by Carter Turnbull. Soon after, a dust up at the Bulldog bench saw the extra penalty go to Hunter Findlater on a check from behind as the Dogs went to the power play. They would connect on it with a crafty play by Paul Meyer, who put a shot intentionally wide of the net from the right point where it ended up out front across the crease onto the tape of Chris Schutz who made no mistake, roofing it high-short side for the natural hat trick and a 5-0 Bulldog lead at 7:19 of the third with Nathan Dingmann also drawing an assist. The Kings would spoil the shut out bid of Claeys just under three minutes later when Johnny Evans found a loose puck off a draw in the Dogs end that he appeared to put off a defender's stick and up and over Claeys. Jeremy Leipsic drew the only assist on it at 9:51 of the third. Any thoughts of a King's comeback would be immediately halted as Chris Schutz put an outlet pass onto the tape of Eric Margo who flew through centre and to the Kings line up the left wing here he blew a slapper from just outside the line top corner, short-side past the glove of Wornig at 10:10 of the third for the 6-1 final score.

Shots in the third favoured the Bulldogs 13-12, for a game total of 31-23 with Brody Claeys picking up the win while Stefan Wornig took the loss. The Dogs went 1 for 3 on the power play while the Kings went 0 for 4.

With the win, the Dogs snap a seven game losing streak while the Kings have now lost three in a row. The Dogs next see action Friday in Duncan before hosting the Capitals on Saturday.
